This year’s event, part of the “Jesolo Spirituals” series, is truly extraordinary. Paolo Fresu, one of Italy’s most internationally renowned jazz musicians, brings his new project, dedicated to Christmas, to the Triveneto region for the first time.
“Christmas Songs” is a way to bring together, through music, unforgettable sensations and memories. Each of us has a different Christmas, but the sense of happiness and sharing shared by people from all continents is the same. The popular trumpeter wanted to give the project a chamber dimension, bringing together a trio for the occasion, complemented by the bandoneon of his longtime companion Daniele di Bonaventura and the cello of the young but already highly regarded Leila Shirvani.
Fresu will perform not only famous American Christmas songs, such as “White Christmas” and “The Christmas Song,” but also pieces from the European religious tradition, such as “Adeste Fideles,” and songs from his native Sardinia.
