The show “The Boom of a No,” based on the beautiful and powerful book by Paola di Nicola Travaglini, “My Word Against His,” is a musical and poetic journey that addresses the tragedy of violence against women, which represents “a health problem of enormous global proportions,” as stated in a World Health Organization report.
The show explores the feelings, prejudices, and “CAGES” women are forced to live with, the cultural legacies and social context that conditions, poisons, and erodes women’s identities. Notes and words describe and denounce, analyze and throb, orchestrating a lyrical symbiosis, to shout NO over and over again and hope that the cry will become an unstoppable roar.
